Performance Home Medical National Clinical Director Justin Graham, MSML, BSRT, RRT-NPS, AE-C, who also serves as Treasurer of the Respiratory Care Society of Washington (RCSW), recently traveled to Washington, D.C. to participate in the AARC Advocacy Day.
Alongside respiratory care leaders, educators, clinicians, and students from across Washington State, Justin met with 11 members of Washington’s congressional delegation to discuss legislation that supports the respiratory therapy profession and helps ensure continued access to high-quality respiratory care for patients.
The delegation included representatives from Spokane Community College, Providence, Washington Health, RCSW, future respiratory care professionals, and other respiratory care leaders committed to advancing the profession. During the visit, the group also recognized Washington representatives who are co-sponsors of H.R. 2902 and S. 1406, legislation designed to support the respiratory care workforce and the patients who depend on these essential services.
Advocacy plays an important role in shaping the future of respiratory care. By engaging with policymakers and sharing real-world perspectives, respiratory care professionals help ensure patient needs, workforce development, and access to care remain part of the conversation.
